DESCRIPTION:Little Learners: Seasonal Science is a new program about what happens in the forest as the seasons change. Participants will discuss what animals do as the seasons change\, and explore science stations focused on winter\, spring\, or fall. There will also be a hike looking for snowflakes\, spring shoots\, or falling leaves\, and make your own seasonal craft to take home!   \n\n\n\nThis program is geared for young children ages 7 and under. One caregiver is admitted free with their child’s registration; additional adults pay daily admission upon arrival. Caregivers are required to stay for the program. Hike will be weather-dependent\, but ensure your little learner is dressed appropriately. \n\n\n\nPre-registration is required. It takes place in the Nature Center.

DESCRIPTION:Can you find Orion in the night sky? What about Taurus? Perseus? Forget the Big Dipper and head out to Neale Woods to enjoy some January constellations during a night of stargazing. \n\n\n\nThis Fontenelle Forest event will begin with a brief evening hike on dirt-packed trails through the prairie and forest as conditions allow. Then as night falls\, watch for stars together while learning about seasonal constellations and general astronomy from seasoned volunteer\, Bob Fuchs. \n\n\n\nMake sure to dress appropriately for the weather\, wear good walking shoes\, and bring a water bottle. Bring a folding chair or blanket to sit on while stargazing and be ready to hike a short distance on easy to moderate terrain with your chair to the stargazing area. \n\n\n\nPre-registration is required.
