Harry Potter Events In Omaha

In 2017, “Harry Potter” turned 20. It’s hard to believe the first book printed 20 years ago, but there you go. We’re all old.

Anyway, Harry Potter is on everyone’s mind. If you’re a fan, and you live in Omaha, you’re in luck. You can celebrate all things Potter over these next few months. Here are some Harry Potter-themed events in the Omaha metro:

 

 

Harry Potter Family Night

When: May 12, 5 to 8 p.m.

Where: Omaha Children’s Museum, 500 S. 20th St.

Cost: Included with museum admission, which is $12 for kids and adults, $11 for seniors, and FREE for member families & children younger than 24 months

 

2018 Wizard Festival & Quidditch Matches

When: June 2, 5 to 10 p.m.

Where: Moonstone Lavender Gardens, 1449 240th Ave., Thurman, Iowa

Cost: $15 (online) or $18 at gate, adults; $8 (online) or $10 at gate, children ages 6-12; and FREE for children 5 and younger

 

Wizardry Academy Summer Camp

When: June 4-8, 1 to 4 p.m., and June 11-15, 9 a.m. to noon

Where: Omaha Children’s Museum, 500 S. 20th St.

Cost: For ages 4-5, $120 for members, $135 for non-members (save $10 off camps if registered before April 2)

 

Advanced Wizardry Academy Summer Camp

When: June 4-8, 9 a.m. to noon, and June 11-15, 1 to 4 p.m.

Where: Omaha Children’s Museum, 500 S. 20th St.

Cost: For ages 6-8, $120 for members, $135 for non-members (save $10 off camps if registered before April 2)

 

Omaha Potter Faire

When: June 16, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Where: il Palazzo, 5110 N. 132nd St.

Cost: $15 in advance for adults (ages 13+); $10 for children (ages 7-12); children 6 and younger are FREE with a parent or guardian

 

Back To Hogwarts Summer Camp

When: July 30 through Aug. 3, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: The Durham Museum, 801 S. 10th St.

Cost: $160 for members, $180 for non-members (camps divided into grades 1 & 2, grades 3 & 4, and grades 5 & 6)

 

Omaha Symphony presents “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets™ in Concert”

When: Nov. 24 & 25

Where: Holland Performing Arts Center, 1200 Douglas St.

Cost: Movie Series Season ticket packages are currently available

 

BritishFest’s Wizard’s Yule Ball

When: Dec. 1, 6 to 10:30 p.m. (or later)

Where: Comfort Inn, 7007 Grover St.

Cost: $15, adults; $5, children (ages 4-10)

    • Good question. I don’t any specific dates but you can always count on the Yule Ball and another not on the list called Holidays at Hogwarts (it’s at Apollon). There are also Harry Potter themed summer camps in 2019, but I don’t have those dates yet.
