Easter In Omaha: Easter Egg Hunts, Easter Brunch & Easter Bunny Fun (2024)

The Easter Bunny season in Omaha is spread out over the course of three or so weekends in 2023. There are Easter Egg Hunts scattered around Omaha, as well as Easter story times and activities at various venues. Read on to find a fun Easter event near you, and if you’re more interested in good food, see where you can make a reservation for Easter Brunch.

Where can I find Easter Bunny in Omaha?

Wanting to meet the Easter Bunny or get some pictures taken with the bunny? This is the section that will have the details on Omaha area Easter Bunny events.

  • Photos with the Easter Bunny at Westroads Mall have started and are available daily through March 30. Walk-ups are accepted, but you can also reserve a time here. The bunny can be found on the main floor of the mall just outside Von Maur. Special events include Pet Nights on March 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, and 26.
  • Fat Brain Toys’ Big Play Saturday on March 9 will feature Dusty Road Petting Zoo and the Easter Bunny. Activities will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the store located at 16909 Burke St., Suite 131. FREE
  • Big Play Saturday at Fat Brain Toys, 16909 Burke St., Suite 131, will feature the Easter Bunny on March 16 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There will also be craft activities. FREE
  • Egg-stravagant Family Fun Weekend at Omaha Children’s Museum is March 22-24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Meet and get a picture with the Easter Bunny during the event. Activities are included with museum admission, while supplies last.
  • Meet the Easter Bunny at Scheels, 17202 Davenport St., on March 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Take pictures with your own camera, enjoy petting and feeding bunnies, and collect goodies around the store. There will also be face painting and balloon twisting. FREE
  • The Easter Bunny will be at the Community Easter Egg Hunt on March 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thompson Park, 2602 S. Franklin St., Bellevue, Neb. There will also be pony rides and bounce houses, face painting, and a DJ. Snow date is March 30.
  • Free photos with the Easter Bunny start March 23 at Bass Pro Shops, 2901 Bass Pro Drive, Council Bluffs, Iowa. Appointments will be released starting March 16. Additional appointments will be available to book at 12:01 a.m. local time, seven days in advance. Reservations are recommended.
  • Free photos with the Easter Bunny start March 23 at Cabela’s, 12703 Westport Parkway, La Vista, Neb. Appointments will be released starting March 16. Additional appointments will be available to book at 12:01 a.m. local time, seven days in advance. Reservations are recommended.
  • The Easter Bunny will be at Village Pointe Shopping Center on March 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. Get photos taken with the bunny and candy-filled eggs.
  • The Easter Bunny will be at the Fremont Mall, 860 E. 23rd St., Fremont, Neb., on March 29 at 10 a.m. Kids get a free bag of goodies.
  • The Easter Bunny will be at La Vista’s annual Easter Egg Hunt and Food Drive on March 30 at the La Vista Sports Complex, 7346 S. 66 St. Gates open at 9:30 a.m. and the hunt will begin at 10:30 a.m. for all ages. There will also be a field with an adaptive egg hunt for ages 0-22.
  • Hop To The Movies event at Marcus Theaters is March 30 at Village Pointe Cinema, Majestic Cinema of Omaha, and Twin Creek Cinema. Doors open at 10 a.m., Easter Egg Hunt starts at 10:30 a.m. and then attend the screening of your choice (“Hop” or “Migration” at 11 a.m.). You can get photos with the Easter Bunny and do crafts, as well. Cost is $9.
  • The Easter Bunny will roaming around Shadow Lake Towne Center on March 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • The Easter Bunny will be at Eggcellent Adventure at the Gene Leahy Mall, 11th and Farnam streets, on March 30 from noon to 3 p.m. FREE
  • Papillion Easter Extravaganza is March 30 at 1 p.m. at Halleck Park, 660 E. Halleck St., Papillion, Neb. Event includes an Easter Bunny trail, games, drinks, snacks and pictures with the Easter Bunny. No registration required. Bring you own basket. FREE

When are the egg hunts in Omaha?

There are an abundance of egg hunt each year in Omaha. They’re held at churches, grocery stores, and businesses of all sorts! Be sure to bring a basket for each kid who’s participating.

  • Benson Sons of The American Legion’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt is March 16 from 11 a.m. to noon at the VFW Post #2503, 8904 Military Road. Egg hunts will be divided by age. Free and open to the public.
  • Tiny Tot Easter is March 19 at 10 a.m. at Mockingbird Hills Community Center, 10242 Mockingbird Drive. There will be an egg hunt for kids ages 6 and younger, as well as arts and crafts. FREE
  • There will be a Float Egg Hunt at Maple Street YMCA, 7502 Maple St., on March 23 starting at 9:30 a.m. Hunts will be divided by age: Ages 4 and under from 9:30 to 9:45 a.m.; ages 5-9 from 9:50 to 10:05 a.m.; and ages 10 and over from 10:10 to 10:25 a.m. There will be family swim after from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Event is free for Y members and $5 per child for non-members. Register online or at the Welcome Center.
  • The Charles E. Lakin YMCA egg hunt in the Lakin Family Park, 235 Harmony St., Council Bluffs, Iowa, is March 23 starting at 10 a.m. The event will be split into 3 different age groups: 4 and under; 5-8; and 9-12. There will be one golden egg hidden in each age group. Registration is required.
  • Community Easter Egg Hunt is March 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thompson Park, 2602 S. Franklin St., Bellevue, Neb. There will also be pony rides and bounce houses, face painting, a DJ, and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Snow date is March 30. **Easter Bunny will be there**
  • Hoppin’ Hotcakes at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium is March 23 & 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., featuring an egg hunt with age-specific prizes and treats, a pancake breakfast from The Pancake Man, photo opportunities, and bird-themed activities and crafts. Cost for members is Adults (ages 12+), $20; Children (ages 3-11), $25; and Under 2, Free, but must have a ticket. For non-members, cost is Adults (ages 12+), $25; Children (ages 3-11), $30; and Under 2. Free, but must have a ticket. Reservations are required.
  • Chirpy’s Play Cafe, 2063 Creek Side Drive, Papillion, Neb., has an Easter Egg Hunt play date on March 24 from 10 a.m. to noon. There will be games and arts & crafts. Cost is $35 for the first child and $30 for each additional child. **Easter Bunny will be there**
  • There will be an Easter Egg Hunt following the March 24 10:30 a.m. service at Unity of Omaha, 3424 N. 90th St. (so around 11:30 a.m.).
  • The Sign & Dine Easter Egg Hunt is at the Inner Rail Food Hall, 1911 S. 67th St., on March 24 from noon to 1:45 p.m. This is open to students and members of the Deaf community and includes an egg hunt and prizes.
  • Operation: Easter Egg Hunt is March 24 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum, 28210 West Park Highway, Ashland, Neb. Kids ages 5 and under start their hunt first, followed by ages 6 to 10. Afterward, the hunt opens up for everyone to explore and find their Easter surprises. Included with admission.
  • Take part in the Easter egg hunt for kids ages 10 and under at 3rd Base Bar & Grill, 800 N. Eighth St., Council Bluffs, Iowa, on March 24 at 2 p.m. There will be more than 400 eggs to find, and a separate section for kids ages 3 and under.
  • Brookestone Meadows, 600 Brookestone Meadows Plaza, Elkhorn, Neb., will have an Easter Egg Hunt on March 24 starting at 3 p.m. Separate areas for small kids and big kids. Hot cocoa and cookies will also be served. **Easter Bunny will be there**
  • Eggstravaganza at Saddlebrook Community Center, 14850 Laurel Ave., is on March 26 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The egg hunt will start promptly at 9:30 a.m., while supplies last, followed by storytime and a craft with the library. Families can stay afterward to play with the toddler gym toys. FREE

  • Project Upstream’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt is March 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Spring Lake Park, 4020 Hoctor Blvd. The event is free and open to the public.
  • The Easter Egg Hunt at Benson Baptist, 6319 Maple St., is March 27 starting at 6:30 p.m. There will be two designated areas: One for preschool through second grade and one for third through sixth grade. FREE
  • Tiny Tot Egg Hunt is on March 28 at 10 a.m. at Montclair Community Center, 2304 S. 135th Ave. There will be an egg hunt for kids ages 6 and younger as well as arts and crafts. $1 per child. Register here.
  • Easter Extravaganza is March 29 through April 8 at Lauritzen Gardens during regular garden hours. Look for the 14 eggs scattered throughout the gardens. This is more a scavenger hunt; kids are not keeping the eggs. Included with garden admission.
  • Eggs and Bases is March 30 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Werner Park, 12356 Ballpark Way, Papillion, Neb. Kids ages 2-12 can hunt for eggs on the field, followed by complimentary access to the Centris Family Fun Zone for Easter games and activity stations, plus photos with the Easter Stormy. FREE
  • Mizpah Lodge No. 302 and Morton Meadows Neighborhood Association Easter Egg Hunt is March 30 at 10 a.m. at Twin Ridge Boulevard and Woolworth Avenue.
  • La Vista’s annual Easter Egg Hunt and Food Drive is March 30 at the La Vista Sports Complex, 7346 S. 66 St. Gates open at 9:30 a.m. and the hunt for 20,000 eggs will begin at 10:30 a.m. for all ages. The fields will be divided by age: Field #1 (adaptive for ages 0-22), Field #2 (ages 4 and under), Field #3 (ages 5-7), and Field #4 (ages 8-10). The Easter Bunny will also be there.
  • Faithful Shepherd Presbyterian Church will have a community Easter egg hunt on March 30 at 10 a.m. at 2530 S. 165th Ave. Weather permitting, the hunt will be on the south lawn. There will also be crafts, games, and snacks.
  • The Easter Egg Hunt at Emmanuel Fellowship, 8345 Crown Point Ave., is March 30 at 10 a.m. Registration for the egg hunt and raffle starts at 9:45 a.m. FREE

  • StoneBridge Christian Church Millard, 13906 S Plaza, hosts the Easter Egg-travaganza on March 30 from 10 a.m. to noon. Activities include egg hunts and a Photo Booth. Egg collection bags will be provided.
  • FaithWestwood United Methodist holds its Easter Eggstravaganza on March 30 at 10 a.m. at Oaks Park located across from the church at 4814 Oaks Lane.
  • The Gifford Farm Egg Hunt is March 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event includes outdoor activities like an egg hunt, scavenger hunt, hayrides, outdoor nature exploration, food, games, and much more. Cost is $6 per person (free admission for children under 2 who are not participating in the egg hunt). Reservations are required.
  • Trucks & Taps Patio will have an all-day Easter Egg Hunt on March 30 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 5402 S. 108th St. Hunt for the hidden eggs and when you find one, bring it to the bar to claim the prize. Limit one egg per kid.
  • Omaha Church of Christ Easter Egg Hunt at 1920 Robertson Drive begins first with a story and bucket decorating at 11 a.m. on March 30, followed by a snack, and then the hunt promptly at noon.
  • The Annual Easter Egg Hunt at First United Methodist Church-Omaha, 7020 Cass St., is on March 31 on the front lawn, weather permitting, at 10 a.m. All welcome.
  • Northwest Christian Church, 714 Benson St., Council Bluffs, Iowa, will hold an Easter Egg Hunt for up to fifth grade on March 31 following the 10:30 a.m. service (approximately 11:15. Meet in the Fellowship Hall – and kids will be released to hunt eggs in age groups. Bring a bag. Do not need to be a member to attend.

2024 Easter brunches in Omaha

It’s an Easter tradition: Enjoying a grand Easter brunch or Easter brunch buffet in Omaha. Here are some of the best Easter brunch options this year:

  • Lauritzen Gardens will have its annual Easter Brunch on March 31. To place a reservation, contact Brittany at (402) 346-4002, Ext. 201, or email [email protected]. This will sell out.
  • Charlie’s On The Lake accepts reservations for Easter Brunch. Call (402) 894-9411 for available times. The restaurant is located at 4150 S. 144th St.
  • Goose 120, 12051 Blondo St., will have brunch on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The brunch menu features a variety of modern American dishes.
  • Mouth of the South will have Sunday brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The brunch menu features a variety of Cajun-style dishes. There are two locations: Old Market at 1111 Harney St. and West Omaha at 16909 Lakeside Hills Plaza.
