25+ Fun Things To Do In Omaha This September

Apple-centric festivals, art fairs and the start of theater season, these are the things September is made for. Let’s not forget that some of the best outdoor events go on this month. Check out all the fun things to do in Omaha this month:

The ’90s Can Eat My Shorts

When: Aug. 21 through Sept. 5, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.

Where: Apollon, 1801 Vinton St.

Cost: $35. adults, $20, students* (includes dinner) *venue says this is PG-13

 

Septemberfest Omaha

When: Sept. 4-7; gates open Friday, 5 p.m. to midnight; and Saturday through Monday, noon to midnight

Where: CenturyLink Center, lot D, 455 N. 10th St.

Cost: $4, children under 5 admitted FREE

 

La Festa Italiana

When: Sept. 4-6

Where: Il Palazzo, 132nd and Fort streets

Cost: $5.50 in advance, $7 at door; kids 12 and under admitted FREE. Advance tickets at Kohl’s Pharmacies and Rockbrook Camera

 

Living History Weekend

When: Sept. 5 and 6, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: Fort Atkinson State Historical Park, 201 S. Seventh St., Ft. Calhoun, Neb.

Cost: Park vehicle permit required; $2 per adult & $1 for children is required for the Visitor Center.

 

Sixth Annual AppleGrass Festival

When: Sept. 5 and 6, music starts at 6 p.m.

Where: Ditmar’s Orchard,19475 225th St., Council Bluffs, Iowa

Cost: $10 for a ONE day pass or $15 for TWO day pass; kids 12 & under FREE

 

“Pete The Cat: The Musical”

When: Sept. 11-27; Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 2 and 5 p.m. Sundays at 2 p.m.

Where: The Rose, 2001 Farnam St.

Cost: $18, or free for members; discount ticket vouchers are available at all area Hy-Vee stores for $14 each. Reservations are required.

 

The Rose’s Teens ‘N’ Theater’s “Zink: Zink: The Myth, The Legend, The Zebra”

When: Sept. 10-13; Sept. 10 and 12 at 7 p.m., Sept. 13 at 4:30 p.m.

Where: The Rose, 2001 Farnam St., Hitchcock Stage

 

Cost:$6; teens may attend FREE on Sept. 10.

 

Fields of Flight

When: Sept. 11-13, balloons launch at 6 p.m. Friday, 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Saturday, and 7 a.m. on Sunday. Balloon glows are at dusk.

Cost: $5 per car, plus $3 admission

Cost: $20, $30 or $40/Person depending on participating restaurant’s menu

 

World ‘O Water Day

When: Sept. 12, noon to 4 p.m.

Fort Omaha Intertribal Powwow

When: Sept. 12, 1 to 7:30 p.m.

Third Annual Apple Fest

When: Sept. 12, 1 to 4 p.m.

Where: Super Bee Orchard, 4571 HWY 75, Fort Calhoun, Neb.

Monarch Tagging

When: Sept. 12, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. (three different sessions, 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30)

Where: Hitchcock Nature Center, 27792 Ski Hill Loop Honey Creek, Iowa

We went to La Festa Italiana. It was pretty fun! I met a friend there that I haven't seen in awhile. It was just hard talking over the music. The music was good though. The food was good. We liked the firework display at the end.
