Your Local Kids Quest + Giveaway

UPDATE: April 7, 2019 – Kids Quest at Ameristar Casino in Council Bluffs, Iowa has permanently closed.

We all aren’t blessed with babysitters at the ready. I’m lucky to live in the same city as most of my immediate relatives and even I sometimes need to scramble to find a babysitter.

Enter Kids Quest.

Never heard of it? It’s the nation’s largest hourly child care provider, but it’s more than what you envision “child care” to be. Think arcade, floor-to-ceiling maze and karaoke. It’s a supervised children’s entertainment center, basically.

Play Time for Kids, Free Time for You!

Our local Kids Quest is located inside Ameristar Casino in Council Bluffs. It’s open seven days a week. For hours and rates – check at

Spoiler alert: There’s a giveaway at the end of the post!

So, if you’re like me, you get a little uptight thinking with your preconceived ideas of an hourly day care center (in a casino, even). Relax.

Kids quest has CPR and first aid certified staff. Safety is a priority, so a photo ID is required at check-in and check out (there’s a nice video about the process check-in here).

TIP: Speed up your first check-in by pre-registering online.

They care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. Socks are required, which reminds me of the policy in my kids’ daycare’s infant room.

  1. I didn’t know the metro had anything like this! When I was a kid we visited some friends of my parents in Texas, and there was a drop in place just like this. They had a bouncy house and a movie theater but I remember my dad balking at the price. My kiddo would love the iPad and Wii stations, as well as the indoor play piece.

  2. Thanks for the review, Kim! I was just looking for a great extended hour daycare. Word of mouth is awesome!

  3. Isaak would like Arts and Crafts, and Mica would like the iPad station.

  9. I had no idea that was there! I could see my kids in the play piece and enjoying the arcade as well as arts and crafts.

  10. Hmm…I’m pretty sure that Jordyn would be fascinated by the Karaoke stage. I mean, she did burst into “Rolling in the Deep” at her preschool graduation. LOL

  11. Sounds like a good time. I am always looking for new and fun things to do with the kiddos!

  12. Tiny Tots and the iPad station would be right up Liv’s alley!

Definitely the play structure, but really, it sounds like every kids dream babysitter! How awesome! I could use a little date night!

  19. April Stierman says

I didn’t know that anything existed in Omaha like this! We have 3 kids and would love to check it out! I’m not sure I could name something my kids would love specifically because they would be all over this! I think especially the indoor play structure!

  20. Irene Dezinna says

My 3 kids 5(boy),8&10(girls)love love love it – the staff is always attentive, my husband is super over protective & a skeptic we leave our kids with no one but their grandmothers & my husband is all for KidsQuest.we had our sons 5th bday there & all the kids had a blast. They take great measures in security . My best friend has only left her daughter who just turned 2 yrs old with her grandmothers as well & swore up & down that she wasn’t going to leave her side & go into the toddler area with a complete stranger & she was fooled . Their professional approach to a first time worried mom was great . My best friends daughter stood in the toddler room the whole length of the birthday party & had a blast. The staff was great . We go their all the time at the sands casino in Bethlehem PA. We shop & hit the slots & the kids have a blast. It’s win win . My oldest daughter raves about their cleanliness. She loves that their bathrooms are never smelly or dirty.
