Plank Seafood Provisions Twitter Party

I’ve been dining at Plank Seafood Provisions at 1205 Howard St. since it opened – I made Mr. Wonderful meet for lunch early on since its Old Market location is convenient. Since then, I’ve gone back to kick off a girls’ night out and to have an outdoor lunch with the kids.

Disclaimer: Plank Seafood Provisions provided complimentary food and a beverage during our Happy Hour sampling. However, all opinions expressed here are mine.

Plank Seafood Provisions has great outdoor seating - perfect for Old Market people watching.

It’s surprisingly kid-friendly – they gave my kids temporary tattoos that they adored and kept them occupied until the food arrived (they have a kids menu, but my kids loved splitting the fish and chips of the main menu).

My daughter's tough sailor girl look.

It’s the kind of place that makes everyone happy.

Including bloggers.

On Tuesday, a group of Omaha bloggers sampled items from Plank’s Happy Hour menu.

Scottish Salmon Crostini with house-smoked boiled egg, shallots, citrus tarragon crème fraîche and a tomato caper relish - in the running for my favorite Happy Hour pick. I really loved the baked mac n cheese with homemdae cavatappi noodles. I was such a pig, I ate it all before I could take a picture.

If you want more tempting pictures, search the #PlankSeafoodHH on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter…we bloggers love to take food pictures.

And no Happy Hour is complete without a drink. I tried the spiked lemonaid mixed with house-made limoncello. Not to get all poetic, but it tasted like a warm summer afternoon on a hammock near a lake.

Spiked lemonaid all around.

You really ought to try this place out if you haven’t already.

And as luck would have it, there’s a Twitter Party coming up where you can WIN gift cards to Plank Seafood Provisions! Try Plank’s food for FREE. Sound good?

It was awesome sitting next to you too and being your fellow first time oyster tryer! Not sure if I'll ever have another oyster in my life, but I'm glad I tried it. And thanks for the tip about the kid's menu! I'm sure it will come in handy soon.

I can't wait to take the kids there! Love the temporary tattoos and that Plank Seafood thought about keeping the kids busy at the table!

Just don't let your kids talk you into putting the tattoos on their faces. They're quality, long lasting ones. :)

The spiked lemonade looked fantastic, but I'm a Bloody Mary fan. They do a smoked flavor with theirs which is awesome! Aside from the oysters, my favorite thing so far is the Braised Beef Flatbread. What was your favorite so far?

I loved the mac and cheese. The oysters were a first for me and I'm now a fan. I was surprised I liked them so much!
